Deadly

In collaboration with Clare Buckley

Project Brief

This Opposite the Editorial Page, or Op-Ed was to be designed around the editorial written by Clare Buckley. It would detail the effects of Alcohol on the human body and its consequences and would be complimented with imagery related to the editorial, which would be designed in a way to illicit an emotional response out of the reader in an attempt to warn them about the deadly effects of Alcohol.

Design Question

How can we illicit an emotional response from the viewer to inform and warn them about the risks dangers associated with alcohol consumption?

Op-Ed Cover Page

Concept

The solution was to use photography as a means to highlight the bodily harm that alcohol can cause. Because people are more likely to relate and feel more empathic towards another person, photography was the best choice to illicit an emotional response. The application of photography in this case also amplifies the seriousness of the information presented in the editorial.
